Before July, Check the Three Things That Matter Most

I have been in this business for decades, and summer in West Virginia has a way of finding the weak spots in a vehicle that winter covered up, literally. The heat climbing off the asphalt on US-60, the afternoon thunderstorms that hit with no warning between Nitro and Saint Albans, the long haul to Snowshoe or the Outer Banks, it all happens within about six weeks of each other. That is not a lot of runway and I know all too well how valuable time is when you're always on the go from day to day.

These three service offers are the ones I recommend you look at before July gets here. They cover the parts of your vehicle most likely to let you down when the temperature goes up, the miles go long, and the kids are in the back seat. See the full coupon page for current terms and expiration dates — offers change, and I want you to see exactly what is in front of you before you schedule.

Tire Service & Low Price Guarantee

Tires — Before the Heat and the Holiday Miles

Tire pressure rises about 1 PSI for every 10 degrees of temperature increase. What you set in February is no longer what you are running in July — and over-inflation reduces your contact patch and increases stopping distance. Tread depth matters on the afternoon thunderstorms that hit US-60 and WV-34 with no warning. If your tires are at or below 4/32nds, you are hydroplaning before you know it.

Check the current coupon page for the active Low Price Tire Guarantee offer. If you find a lower price on the same tire elsewhere, bring us the quote.

Motorcraft battery test and replacement offer Hurricane WV

Battery Test & Motorcraft® Replacement

Battery — Heat Kills Them Faster Than Cold Does

Most drivers assume winter is what kills a battery. It is not — summer is. The heat accelerates internal breakdown and corrodes the terminals at a faster rate than cold weather. Add A/C running full-time, short trips that never complete a full charge cycle, and a battery that is already 3 or 4 years old, and you are carrying a ticking clock.

A battery load test takes about 10 minutes. The Motorcraft® Tested Tough® battery offer is on the coupon page. Check the current terms and expiration before you schedule — and confirm the offer applies to your vehicle trim and battery group size.

Ford The Works synthetic blend oil change maintenance package Hurricane WV

The Works® Maintenance Package

One Visit. Everything Checked. Ready for July.

The Works® package covers a synthetic blend oil change plus multi-point inspection: tire rotation and pressure, brake inspection, fluid top-off, battery test, belt and hose check, and filter inspection. If you are due for an oil change and a tire rotation anyway, this is the most efficient use of one service visit before a summer road trip.

Tire rotations are documented in your vehicle service history every time — confirmed and logged, not just checked off a list. See the current coupon for offer details, exclusions, and expiration date.

Service Questions — Straight Answers

Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in for a tire check or battery test? +

Call ahead — especially from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Our service lane stays busy through the summer months, and we want to make sure we have the right bay time for your vehicle. Schedule online at generationsford.com/service or call 304-562-3315. Service hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM.

Will my tire rotation be documented in my service records? +

Yes. Every service performed at Generations Ford is logged in your vehicle's service history — not just listed on a checklist, but recorded and verifiable. If you ever have a question about what was done on a visit, we can pull the record. That is how we run the shop, and it is how we protect you if you ever need to reference your service history for a warranty claim or a resale.

What vehicles do these service offers apply to? Is it Ford only? +

The Works® package and tire service are available for Ford vehicles serviced here. The Low Price Tire Guarantee and battery offers are subject to offer terms and vehicle application — see the coupon page for current eligibility details, exclusions, and expiration dates. When in doubt, call the service desk and we will tell you exactly what applies to your vehicle.

How do I know if I need new tires or if mine can wait another season? +

The quick check: put a quarter in the tread groove with Washington's head facing down. If you can see the top of his head, you are at or below 4/32nds — that is the point where wet-road traction starts to decline noticeably. At 2/32nds, the tire is legally worn out in most states. Our service team checks tread depth on every visit and reports the measurement to you — not just a pass/fail, the actual number.

See the full tire service page for more on what to look for.

Can I schedule service if I am coming in from Charleston, Huntington, or Saint Albans? +

Absolutely. We regularly service vehicles for drivers from across Putnam County and the wider Kanawha Valley — including Saint Albans, Scott Depot, Winfield, Milton, Barboursville, Teays Valley, and the Charleston and Huntington areas. If the drive is an issue, ask about Ford Pickup & Delivery. We take the drive out of the equation where scheduling allows.

What does The Works® package actually include — and what does it not include? +

Included: Synthetic blend oil change and filter, tire rotation and pressure check, brake inspection, vehicle multi-point inspection, fluid top-off, battery test, belt and hose check, filter check.

Not included: Full synthetic oil upcharge, any repairs identified during inspection, alignment correction, tire replacement, or items outside the scope of the coupon offer. See the coupon page for current pricing, exclusions, and expiration date.

If the inspection identifies something that needs attention, our service advisor will walk you through it — with a written estimate — before anything additional is touched.
