October & November Price Match Guarantee on Aftermarket Parts
Throughout October and November, Generations Ford is offering all customers — not just Ford owners — a price match guarantee on all aftermarket parts prices from any other vendor. Walk in or call with your price quote and our team will match or beat it. No gimmicks. No asterisks. No fine print. This offer applies to parts we have in stock and does not extend to parts ordered from third-party online retailers.
For questions or to confirm availability before you make the drive, contact Dustin Wood, Parts Manager, directly at 304-562-3315 or 304-356-0100.
Parts hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM. We are closed Saturday and Sunday on the parts side — so if you're making the drive out on US-60 from Saint Albans, Scott Depot, Winfield, or Nitro, Monday morning is the cleanest run.
What Your Vehicle Actually Needs This Fall & Early Winter
West Virginia autumn transitions hit different than anywhere else on the map. You go from a frosty, 36-degree morning commute through heavy Kanawha river valley fog on I-64 to a 68-degree afternoon in a Kroger parking lot — and then back down into freezing mountain air by the time you're through Teays Valley and heading up toward Hurricane after dark. Those sharp temperature drops expose summer wear on batteries, fluids, tires, and heating systems fast. Here's what our team sees coming through the bay every October and November — and what's worth addressing now before the first hard freeze costs you more later.
🔋 Battery & Charging System
Summer heat quietly degrades your battery's internal plates, but October and November cold snaps are what finish it off. At 32°F, a battery loses roughly 35% of its cranking power while your engine requires more amperage to turn over. If your battery is 3 years or older, get it load-tested now before an early November frost leaves you stranded in the driveway.
🌡️ Antifreeze, Thermostat & Hoses
Your cooling system is just as critical in November as it is in July. Degraded coolant loses its freeze protection and corrosion inhibitors, while a weak thermostat or brittle heater hose can leave you without cabin heat on US-60 or US-35 grades. Inspect your reservoir and check hoses for softness or cracking — especially if your truck has over 60,000 miles.
❄️ Defroster, Heater & Cabin Filter
When morning frost and river valley fog hit your windshield, your defroster needs maximum airflow to clear the glass safely. A cabin air filter packed with summer dust and autumn leaves chokes your HVAC blower and slows down defrost times. Swapping in a fresh cabin filter takes minutes and keeps warm air moving when temperatures dip.
🛞 Tire Pressure & Wet/Cold Tread
Tire pressure drops 1 to 2 PSI for every 10°F drop in ambient temperature. If you haven't touched your tires since August, your TPMS light is almost guaranteed to pop on during the first frosty October morning. Combine low pressure with wet autumn leaves and early sleet on WV curves, and shallow tread becomes a real hazard. Check your PSI and tread depth before winter sets in.
🌧️ Wiper Blades & De-Icer Fluid
Summer UV rays bake and harden wiper rubber, causing blades to chatter and smear right when cold October rain and November road spray arrive. With shorter days meaning both your morning and evening commutes on US-60 happen in the dark or glare, fresh winter-ready wiper blades and freeze-rated washer fluid are the cheapest safety upgrade you can make.
🔧 Cold-Start Oil, Filter & Brakes
Old, contaminated oil thickens in freezing temperatures, making cold morning starts harder on your engine internals. And if you're hauling to deer camp, heading up to Snowshoe, or packing the family in for Thanksgiving travel, you also want clean oil and responsive brake pads before you hit mountain grades — not three hours from home.
