VERSATILE!!!
by LWCIII on 1/11/2026 2:20:28 PM
2011 has Multi variable customization options. Took my down to frame, rebuilt in 2024, and 2025. Customized all feature. Very easy to work on (if correctly maintained). Must be a patient mechanic to deal with ford BS. I think that the EDGE is a Very rewarding project. This vehicle is most accepting to any changes that you can come up with. Many references all over the web. Price ee OEM parts, but, again, many aftermarket options. If you plan to buy this machine, please be aware of 2x big problems. 1. Water pump/Timing chain. The original water pump seals will fail (beteen 175k, and 210k miles) 2. Multiple electrical issues. Most notably of these are the door open sensors. These sensors are embedded in the door locking mechanism. Must replace entire locking module to repair sensor. In my case, These issues only materialize at around 90k mi, and little less than 10yrs of hard waterfront maritime driving. Daily driver/work truck. Outstanding MACHINE - 5.0

I went from a RAV4 to a prius during a slight period of insanity. I saw the used EDGE at FORD and drove it around. It's a limited and it has metalic black outside. Inside is heater seating with seat warmers. I would make the front seat more able to go back because I'm only 5'7" and I put it back as far as the driver's seat with go. The seats fold down. I wanted to mke the SUV a camper for me and my dog, but it seems to entail taking out the back seats, which I am not up to doing. I'll try one of thoise blow up beds. I like this better than the RAV4. The years and packages were about the same. The FORD had a better sun roof and a quieter ride. The RAV4 had slightly better mileage. The ford is more comfortable.
